Medicine Whoops Update

Hello all future doctors,

It’s been a few weeks since our last update, so we just wanted to reach out and let you all know how things are progressing. Currently the game is still at the printer in China. We regret that the production is taking longer than we anticipated, but we want to make sure we deliver the highest quality product to you. We were overly ambitious with our schedule and unfortunately have fallen short of our estimated timeline. We do thank you for your patience and hope you understand that this is our first successful Kickstarter campaign and we did not realize how long the printing and shipping phases of the process could take.

That said, the proofs looked fantastic, and after making a few minor tweaks, we can assure you that the game is going to look amazing. We just hope you have as much fun playing it as we did making it!

In other news we have sent out the first play test copies of our next game Samuel Sandwich, and are anxiously awaiting feedback from our testers. We also took a copy to Malestrom last weekend and got some very favorable reactions to it.

So thank you once again for hanging in there. The moment we hear anything back we will let you all know immediately. We value all of you as backers and are very appreciative of your help in getting this project off of the ground.

Hey Docs,

Definitely not as quickly as we estimated but we are almost at the finish line. There has been  a few bumps in the past few weeks involving a custom doctor card but everything has been worked out. In the end everything is proceeding there were no changes necessary so that is the good news as far as getting these shipped as soon as possible. We did receive the final completely formed, cut, packaged sample from the printer and it looks fabulous! It arrived 3 days ago here are some photos from the unbox.

We have given our approval and we will post up as soon as we confirm the arrival date of the shipment.

Medicine Whoops Production Update and More!

What's Up Docs,

Medicine Whoops Production
Wanted to provide an update as we reach the end of March. After approving the digital proofs from the printer we have been waiting to hear from the printer that the shipment is on it's way. Apparently the US company we are working with for production has actualy sent over a representative to the plant in China to oversee all the details. Everything has progressed well and other then the previous hiccups due to Chinese new year and some corrections that needed to be made no additional snags have occured which I have to say is great news. So we were expecting shipping notification and instead we received color test sheets (Which Came Out Fantastic!) The good news is that the colors look great and the printer is doing a really nice job to make sure to take the time to ensure the final production is a really great product. The downside is that the main production has not happened yet which means the finished packages will ship within the next 2 weeks. So yes it will take a bit longer but this was to ensure quality product and I think that is worth the extra time for color review. It is very important to us that everyone is thrilled with the product that they get. Now that we have worked with this supplier our next campaign will build a few more weeks into the process to avoid going long on future projects. We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience as we work all these little wrinkles out. All in all it was a very aggressive timeline and I think we will end up being fairly close. We have heard and experienced some horror stories about campaigns taking forever to complete fulfillment and we take this part very seriously and want to make sure that if there are any delays for any reason we let you know everything we do along the way.

Backerkit Finalization
As we are in the home stretch and will be ordering bulk shipping and shipping materials etc. We will be locking in everyones added selections on Backerkit. So please make sure that if you want to add anything or make changes you do so right away. We will be locking them into the system on Friday April 3rd.

Samuel Sandwich: A Gentleman's Game Of Cannibalism
While we have been awaiting updates from the printer in China we have been hard at work on what we think will be the next project on kickstarter (barring any catastrophic play test disasters). Things have moved really fast with the creation of Samuel Sandwich, it actually bumped what we had thought was going to be the next project because it has been so well received thus far. The game page on BGG is now up and please feel free to check it out and let us know what you think!

Thanks again to everyone for the amazing support! We can't wait to get Medicine Whoops on your table and hear about all the mayhem that takes place! In the mean time we would love to hear what your think of Samuel Sandwiches debut!

Medicine Whoops Quick Production Update
about 11 years ago – Tue, Mar 10, 2015 at 08:53:53 PM

Greetings Doctors,

Progress is moving forward we have reached another milestone. We received printers proofs from the supplier and for the most part everything looks great and is good to go. There was a slight mix-up with the rulebook which we converted to a double sided full color sheet due to concerns about weight and fitting into the final box. The printers proof had the original booklet format. This issue has been resolved and all systems are go! We have been pushing as hard as humanly possible to get this shipped before the end of March however when planning this out we did not account for the huge production speed bump that is Chinese New Year. We take the delivery date very seriously and we are going to do everything we can do to get this game shipped out to you ASAP. This is our first go round mass producing a game and for the most part everything has gone really well. Of course nothing ever goes completely perfectly so the lesson learned for our next project is to build in a few extra weeks for any unforeseen printers proof mix-ups and put Chinese New Year on all of our calendars. And hey if everything goes perfectly we will actually be early!

At least that's all behind us and everything is moving steadily forward. We are pushing to get a final date but do not have one yet. it will most likely depend on customs and whether or not that part goes smoothly.

So while we are going to run over our target date slightly it will not be a big delay and we will keep you informed at every step of the process.

For anyone who is interested check out this link to see a fully rotatable PDF of the box. You must use a recent version of acrobat reader to view it but it is really very cool.

You have to download the PDF and use acrobat reader to check it out. It is fully rotatable and you can zoom in and out but it won't work with other viewers just acrobat reader.
